The First National Bank of Suffield takes data protection, identity theft and customer privacy very seriously. We already have many procedures in place to protect your data and we comply with all regulatory guidelines pertaining to privacy.

We are now proud to introduce a new identity verification feature that will add an extra layer of security to your internet banking sessions. There’s absolutely no cost associated with this new service. It’s completely free!

What is the new security feature?

The new security feature watches for unusual or uncharacteristic behavior involving your typical internet banking activity. If anything out of the ordinary is detected, we will ask you to verify your identity.

How does it work?

In the rare case any unusual or uncharacteristic activity is detected, you will be prompted to answer several security questions to confirm your identity.

Example #1. If you are away on vacation and log in using a computer other than your normal desktop, then we will ask you to verify that it is really you accessing your account.

Example #2. If someone tries to log in with your user name from another country shortly after you have logged off from your desktop, then we will want to verify that it is really you trying to access your accounts.

Most of the time you won’t notice this security feature is even there, but it will be protecting you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Do you need to sign up for this new security feature?

This new feature is available to all internet banking customers. Expect to be prompted at some point during the log-in process to enter additional information. This will include choosing several security questions and answers. Once completed, this added layer of protection to your internet banking access will be added.
